Islam is a religion of peace - peace to mankind and everyone. It is a religion to lead humanity to the depths of darkness and ignorance towards the path of light and knowledge. The literal meaning of Islam is derived from the Arabic word Salaam, which means peace. The word "Islam" has another root of the branch - Slim - meaning surrender or submission. In short, Islam means peace acquired by man by submitting his will to the Will of God.
Coming to the point, a religion with such high values recorded in his name is misunderstood by most people as violent and intolerant. If a Muslim commits a foul, is directly or indirectly attributable to Islam. Misinterpretation of many malicious people gave a bad name to this "religion of peace". But at this critical moment, people should know that Islam is not what X or Y, said. This is not scientific or scholarly interpretation, Islam is what the Scriptures - The Quran says that Muhammad and the Prophet of Islam said. These are the two main sources of Islam.
Islam is against compulsion in religion
It is enshrined in the Holy Quran that there is no compulsion in Islam. Muslims are forbidden to force people of other religions to accept Islam. There is no tolerance for those who compels another person to submit to her / his will and become a religion against their will. Allah says:
"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break reliable Allah. Heareth and knoweth all things." [Sura Baqara 2:256]
This is the basis of religion and tolerance for each and every one of their villages. There is no power and no stress a person to embrace Islam. If he or she wants to accept Islam, necessarily must be out of his own will and not the tip of the sword. This is the essence of Islam. Islam is an open invitation to men and have the right to accept or reject it.
Islam is not violent and tolerant
Violence is not in the dictionary of Islam. No place for violence, either in the Qur'an or the Sunnah (Prophetic traditions). It is mentioned several times in the Qur'an that Allah does not love those who do evil in the land. This verse is as follows:
"... Allah loves not those who do wrong ..." [Sura 5:64 Mai'dah]. "Mischief" in Arabic Fasad, and may refer to murder, corruption, evil and violence. So when Allah does not love those who sow violence, how violence can legislate on religion? These two opposites can not exist in Islam.
Moreover, most of the violence - killing innocents - is repudiated in strong words whose tastes are in any religious scripture:
"... If anyone kills a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the lives of all mankind ... "[Surah 5:31 Mai'dah]
This verse explicitly condemns any innocent death. Even in revenge or in time of war, Muslims should not kill innocent people. In a Hadith (prophetic tradition), Muhammad said, "Go in the name of God and the help of Allah, following the path of the Messenger of Allah. Kill not an old man, baby, child or woman ... spread the goodness and do good, for Allah loves those who do good. "(Abu Dawud).
Elsewhere in the Qur'an, God asks the believer to keep the door open for peace. The door to peace is open every day of Islam, even in a battlefield. Allah says: "... If the enemy incline towards peace, you (also) incline towards peace, and trust in God ..." [Surah Anfal 8:61].
Even in retaliation, a Muslim should not break. If you have been injured by a person, you have no right to harm themselves or someone else to take his revenge. And, if you are powerless and unable to do anything, Islam teaches patience cling to. No permission to violence, whether in Islam anytime. Reflection on the hadith: ". If anyone damages (other), hurts Allah, and if anyone shows hostility to others, Allah show hostility to him" (Abu Dawud), it is clear that complete tolerance, peace and perseverance are virtues attributed by religion.
